Dear Alumni,
It is my honor and privilege to be able to serve as the seventh dean of the School of Pharmacy. I want to especially thank all of the alumni who have supported the outstanding efforts of the School of Pharmacy through your many significant contributions. The significance of our alumni in building the great reputation the School has achieved over the years cannot be underestimated. From the beginning efforts of Dean Muldoon to the deans who followed, to the faculty, students, and staff, the School of Pharmacy has always held its alumni in the highest regard.
The alumni of the Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy have made significant contributions to the stability and growth of teaching, research, and service missions of the School. Many Duquesne alumni have served as preceptors for Duquesne pharmacy student interns and for introductory and advanced practice, experiential education courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. Those alumni who participate in the pharmacy preceptor program are individuals of critical importance to the School, for they are among the last instructors/mentors of our students before they enter professional pharmacy practice. We are immensely grateful for your dedicated service and continued support of the academic programs.
In addition, pharmacy alumni have contributed their time and efforts by serving on several critical committee assignments. Alumni serve or have served on the Curriculum Committee, Continuing Education Committee, Student Recruitment Committee, Experiential Education Advisory Committee, ACPE Self-Study Work Groups, and the Dean’s Advisory Council. We are always seeking alumni input and believe that our alumni participate in and contribute to the decision making process of the School.
The alumni of the Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy are respected leaders in their profession. Many have been honored by local, state and national pharmacy associations.
